What’s New in the 2025 Basalt X?
While the Basalt X retains the core design of the standard Basalt, it introduces several key changes and feature additions.
Exterior: Subtle tweaks include a thin red accent strip on the lower front bumper (carried over from the Basalt Dark Edition) and a new “Basalt X” badge on the tailgate. It continues to feature LED projector headlamps, 3D-effect tail lamps, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Interior: The top-spec ‘Max’ variant now comes with a new black and tan interior theme, replacing the previous all-white scheme. This, along with a rear armrest with cupholders, gives the cabin a more premium and practical feel.
New Features (on top ‘Max’ variant):
Ventilated front seats
360-degree camera (optional for Rs. 25,000)
Cruise control
Auto-dimming IRVM
Carried-over Features: The Basalt X retains features from the standard model, such as a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless phone mirroring, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, and adjustable under-thigh support for rear passengers.
Engine and Rivals
The Basalt X continues to be powered by the same engine options: a 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine. Both engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
In the market, the Basalt X competes with other SUV coupes like the Tata Curvv, and also faces rivals in the C-segment SUV space such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
