From January to March 2026, Indian buyers will see a barrage of new-generation SUVs, electrified models and refurbed cars. The SUV market will remain the leader, while electric vehicles (EVs) will continue to gain ground as more manufacturers roll out practical and affordable models.

Let’s take a look at some of the most-awaited cars coming to India in early 2026.

Renault New Duster

Expected Launch: January 2026

The Renault Duster is back on the cards for a new generation model in India. Once a game-changer in the country’s affordable SUV segment, its arrival is anticipated to be accompanied by contemporary styling, increased technology and an electrified powertrain option.

The new model will have a more assertive exterior design, similar to more global Renault family members, with sharper creases, revised LED lighting elements and a tougher look. Inside the cabin, the new six-seater will offer a more premium layout with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and improved build quality.

Mechanically, the new Duster is likely to feature a 1.2-litre turbo petrol powertrain with hybrid tech on board. This configuration should offer a good amount of performance along with fuel economy, expected to be around 18–20 kmpl. Combining rugged looks with practical SUV drivability, the Duster could become a popular choice once again for Indian SUV buyers.

Maruti Suzuki eVitara

Expected Launch: February 2026

Maruti Suzuki has been working on making an entry into the electric SUV segment with the much-anticipated eVitara. This SUV will be the brand’s first fully electric offering for the Indian market and a key part of its EV strategy.

New Suzuki eVitara will likely receive a fresh design highlighted by modern features such as thinner lights, a closed grille, and plenty of futuristic styling elements. Expect the cabin to have a tech-focused layout with a big infotainment system, connected car technology, and premium materials.

Regarding performance, the electric SUV is expected to have battery choices between 49 kWh and 61 kWh. If chosen, the larger battery pack would provide a staggering driving range of ~500 km on a single charge. Backed by Maruti Suzuki’s strong service network and brand reliability, the eVitara could very well become one of the go-to EVs across India.

Tata Sierra EV

The iconic Sierra nameplate is getting an all-electric revival from Tata Motors. This new Sierra EV takes a lot of design cues from that truck, but is infused with futuristic elements and electric mobility.

The concept version previewed earlier garnered a lot of interest with its exciting looks and trademark glasshouse of the original Sierra. Expect the production version to retain many of these design details, with added touches more in line with modern SUVs.

The Sierra EV will be based on Tata’s Gen 2 flexible electric vehicle architecture, which would allow for a driving range of around 500 km. The inside is expected to feature a lavish and spacious cabin, multiple digital displays, high-end connectivity features and special emphasis on comfort.
