Kawasaki Z300 Launched at ₹3.24 Lakh: Price, Specs and Features
Kawasaki has launched the Z300 in India at ₹3.24 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable entry point into the brand’s Z-series lineup. It uses the 296cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine from the Ninja 300, setting it apart from rivals that use single-cylinder engines.
Kawasaki Z300 Price in India
The Z300 sits below the Z650 in Kawasaki’s Indian range and is sold in a single Standard variant. At ₹3.24 lakh (ex-showroom), it is about ₹10,000 cheaper than the faired Ninja 300 at ₹3.34 lakh. The two bikes share an engine, but one is a fully faired sports bike and the other a naked street bike.
On-road prices depend on the city, registration, and insurance. Bookings were reported to open on 19 October. Kawasaki has not announced delivery timelines.
Engine and Performance
The 296cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin makes 39.4bhp at 11,000rpm and 26.3Nm at 10,000rpm. Both peaks arrive high in the rev range. That suits a smaller twin, which makes its power by revving rather than from low-speed pull. It will not match the larger single-cylinder engines in this segment for torque. Kawasaki has not announced mileage, acceleration or top-speed figures, so we have not included any.
The six-speed gearbox comes with a slip-and-assist clutch as standard. Such clutches generally lighten the lever pull and reduce rear-wheel hop on hard downshifts. The engine also gets Kawasaki’s dual-throttle valve technology, which the company has described elsewhere as aiding throttle response. Independent tests of the Indian bike will show how much difference either makes on the road.
Design and Styling
The Z300 follows Kawasaki’s Z-series design. Up front, there is a Z-shaped headlight section flanked by large tank extensions, and the engine and other mechanical parts are left exposed. The bike rides on the Ninja 300’s tubular frame and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The main difference from the Ninja 300 is the wide, upright single-piece handlebar, which places the rider more upright than the Ninja’s sportier stance. The seat height is 785mm and ground clearance is 140mm. Two colour schemes are on offer: Candy Lime Green/Ebony and Metallic Carbon Gray/Ebony.
Features and Equipment
Pre-launch reports mentioned a TFT display with smartphone connectivity. The production bike differs. It gets a reverse LCD console, similar to the unit on the Ninja 500. The console shows speed, revs, fuel level, clock, odometer, two trip meters, a service indicator, and coolant temperature. Smartphone connectivity is not listed in the published equipment details.
Dual-channel ABS is standard, which helps prevent wheel lock under hard braking. No riding modes or other electronic aids have been listed.

Kawasaki Z300 vs Rivals
The Z300 competes with the 2026 KTM 390 Duke (₹2.85 lakh) and the TVS Apache RTR 310 (₹2.30 lakh). Both rivals are single-cylinder motorcycles. All prices below are ex-showroom.
| Kawasaki Z300 | KTM 390 Duke | TVS Apache RTR 310 | |
| Ex-showroom price | ₹3.24 lakh | ₹2.85 lakh | ₹2.30 lakh |
| Engine | 296cc parallel-twin | 399cc single | 312cc single |
| Power | 40PS (approx.) | 46PS | 35.6PS |
| Torque | 26.3Nm | 39Nm | 28.7Nm |
The Z300 costs ₹38,664 more than the 390 Duke, which makes more power and much more torque. The Apache RTR 310 is the cheapest of the three, by roughly ₹94,000 against the Z300. Its 35.6PS and 28.7Nm are slightly lower on power and slightly higher on torque than the Z300’s.
The Z300’s case rests on its twin-cylinder layout, the Kawasaki brand, and the Ninja 300-based chassis. If outright performance or a longer equipment list matters most, the Duke and the Apache RTR 310 offer more for less money. We have not compared equipment lists here, so check each bike’s features before deciding.
CarsBikesHub Take
The Z300 is aimed at buyers who value engine character, and Z-series looks over spec-sheet value. A buyer moving up from a smaller bike who wants a twin-cylinder motor and Kawasaki ownership may find it appealing. The upright handlebar and 785mm seat also suit riders who want a more relaxed stance than the Ninja 300.
The compromises are clear. It costs more than both rivals, makes less power and torque than the Duke, and has a basic LCD console with no listed smartphone connectivity. Buyers chasing performance per rupee should look at the Duke and the Apache RTR 310 first. Take a test ride and check service availability near you before booking.
