MG Hector Plus Review: Price, Features, Specs

The Hector Plus is for those who seek a more usable and comfortable iteration of the regular Hector. Boasting a five-point arm strap design that will simply ease your worries, its three-row seating is the perfect option for larger families in need of a sultry, sexy vehicle with plenty of space and all the luxury features. The new facelift comes with a few tweaks but retains the trusty engine and premium touch.

MG Hector Plus Price in India

MG Hector Plus price begins at ₹17.29 lakh and rises to ₹19.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s currently in petrol form with the diesel following next year.

Savvy Pro 7-Seater CVT (Top Model) – ₹19.49 lakh

The MG Hector Plus offers good utility for the money in terms of space, features and safety tech as well.

Engine and Performance

Currently, the MG Hector Plus is offered with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. It generates 141 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque, combined with a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic.

The engine is quiet and well-mannered, and it feels relaxed in city as well as highway driving. That means power delivery is linear, and the SUV feels at home, ambling along with your average drive. The mileage corresponding to the different variants is between 12.34 kmpl and 13.79 kmpl.

Exterior Design

The updated MG Hector Plus looks aggressive and premium. It gets a new chrome grille, LED headlamps, DRLs, and updated bumpers. The side profile is the same but gains freshness with new 18-inch wheels on alloys. The SUV itself has a modern look with, in the rear, connected LED taillamps.

The MG Hector Plus is available in five colour options:

Glaze Red

Starry Black

Aurora Silver

Pearl White

Celadon Blue

Interior and Seating Comfort

On the inside, the MG Hector Plus boasts a plush dual-tone black and brown cabin. The dashboard and door pads are finished in soft-touch materials. The SUV is at present offered only in a 7-seater design along with a bench seat in the second row.

There is very good space and comfort in the first two rows, while the third row is for kids or short trips. With its seating flexibility, the MG Hector Plus is a family-friendly SUV.

Features and Technology

There are plenty of features packed into the MG Hector Plus. Key highlights include:

14-inch touchscreen infotainment system

Panoramic sunroof

7-inch digital driver display

Ventilated front seats

Wireless phone charger

Multi-colour ambient lighting

Air purifier

Infinity 8-speaker sound system

Over 75 connected car features

Updated touchscreen with even more RAM, for smoother and faster response.

Safety Features

Safety is always a necessary point in the MG Hector Plus. It comes equipped with:

Up to six airbags

360-degree camera

Electronic Stability Program (ESP)

Hill-hold assist

Traction control

Front and rear parking sensors

All four disc brakes

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS. While the new i20 is yet to be crash-tested by Bharat or Global NCAP, that safety suite on paper looks good too.

Boot Space and Practicality

In a 6-seat configuration, the MG Hector Plus provides ample boot space for small-sized bags with all seats up. Fold the third row or the second row, and the luggage capacity expands markedly. The power tailgate makes it easier to load and unload.

Final Verdict

MG Hector Plus: The comfortable, feature-rich, and spacious SUV for large families. Though the third row is also best for children, great flexibility throughout, a premium cabin, and lots of tech features make it an excellent competitor in this three-row SUV category.
