The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 is a major evolution of one of the most iconic motorcycles in India. The Bullet has always come with a timeless design and thudding character to it, and now, the foundation stone of every Royal Enfield has barged into the 650cc segment, combining legacy with contemporary engineering.

Recently launched at the global stage in 2025 and making its way to India sometime around 2026, the Bullet 650 is powered by a parallel-twin engine, more refinement and better hardware than you would ever expect. It targets riders who love classic styling but want more performance and the ability to do more highway than an old-school Bullet 350.

It combines the fundamental essence of the original Bullet with a modern riding experience that is both refined and flexible.

Royal Enfield Bullet 650 Price

In India, the Royal Enfield Bullet 650 is expected to be priced at around ₹3.4 lakh to ₹3.7 lakh (ex-showroom). Even though it has not been launched yet, the final pricing will depend on variants and features.

Royal Enfield Bullet 650 Variants

At present, Royal Enfield has not announced the variant lineup for the Bullet 650. But judging by brand trends, you can expect it to be in:

  • Standard variant
  • Mid-spec variant with additional features
  • Top variant with premium finishes and colour options

To remain true to Bullet’s heritage, the bike is expected to be made available with multiple colour schemes, including standard shades such as black and blue.

Engine and Performance

The key upgrade on the Royal Enfield Bullet 650 is its engine. It packs a 647.95cc parallel-twin engine producing around  47 PS power and 52.3 Nm torque. This is the same proven engine seen in other Royal Enfield 650 models, known for its smooth performance and strong low-end torque.

The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch for smooth and fatigue-free long rides. Under real-world conditions, Bullet 650 is likely to return:

  • Strong cruising ability at highway speeds
  • Minimal vibrations compared to older Bullets
  • Linear power delivery ideal for both city and touring

This is a massive upgrade over the single-cylinder Bullet models. When compared to the old Bullet 350, that performance difference is quite significant. The parallel-twin makes for a much smoother experience with fewer vibrations, even when you wind up the throttle. So overtaking on highways is easy, and this bike is fine cruising at 100-120 km/h without feeling strained. That makes it more than just a city cruiser; it’s also a capable long-distance touring contributor.

Mileage and Fuel Efficiency

Official mileage figures have not yet been revealed, but we’d estimate a similar range to other 650cc Royal Enfields, around 22-25 km/l (approx.) The bike features a 14.8-litre fuel tank with the potential for a decent touring range.

Mileage is not its strong point, but it does an acceptable balancing act of performance and efficiency for the segment.

Design and Comfort

The design is where the Royal Enfield Bullet 650 comes into its own.

It retains the classic Bullet DNA with:

  • Teardrop-shaped fuel tank
  • Hand-painted pinstripes
  • Chrome-finished twin exhausts
  • Round headlamp with casquette styling

It is most comfortable in both the city and on long-distance rides, thanks to its long bench seat and an upright riding position.

In terms of ergonomics:

  • Seat height: ~800 mm (accessible for most riders)
  • Relaxed handlebar position
  • Forward-set footpegs for cruising comfort

Though the bike weighs about 243 kg, it might feel a little heavy in traffic.

Features and Technology

While the Bullet 650 retains its retro roots, it will also sport modern essentials. Key features include:

  • Semi-digital instrument cluster
  • Analogue speedometer with digital display
  • Gear position indicator
  • USB charging port
  • LED lighting (headlamp and tail lamp)

Without high-end features such as full TFT screens and riding modes, it focuses solely on simplicity and classic appeal.

To ensure the classic look of the Bullet remains intact, Royal Enfield has intentionally kept the feature list basic. Rather than bombarding the rider with tech, it stays focused on giving them a pure, distraction-free riding experience, something many enthusiasts still seek.

Safety Features

The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 offers solid safety hardware for its segment:

  • Dual-channel ABS
  • Front and rear disc brakes
  • Wide tyres for better grip
  • Stable chassis for confident handling

It gets a braking setup that instils confidence, and the suspension setup (telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers) is good enough for Indian roads.

Final Verdict

The Royal Enfield Bullet 650 really lives up to the legacy of one of India’s most loved motorcycles, but with new-age performance. It keeps the iconic styling and rustic riding experience that Bullet fans love intact, but improves the package overall with a polished 650cc parallel-twin mill and better high-speed capability.

This motorcycle is aimed at riders who adore retro looks but don’t want to sacrifice performance and comfort. But the Bullet 650 finds a good balance between old-school charm and modern usability, daily commuting with its healthy road presence, or long-distance touring with relaxed ergonomics.

It may not have a lot of high-end features, but that’s not what it’s for. Combining proven engineering to good effect, the Bullet 650 focuses on providing a pure and engaging riding experience. If you are after a powerful retro motorcycle and want a ton of brand heritage to go with it, this bike still stands as both an emotional choice and a top-seller in the mid-size segment.
